Have I lost my senses? Sin is separation from God ...and doesn't God hate sin?
I think we can understand this better if we don't just look at it as this huge gulf between our understanding and God. Let's look how we look at our children ...or should look at them.
We do not have stringent directions and rules ...just because we enjoy dominance over others. If it is this way, then something is wrong. Directions and rules are supposed to help guide and teach ...so further and more severe consequences can be avoided further on. We teach, so they can learn.
Of course, we imperfect parents often teach much we don't want our children to learn ...so, that is why it is even more critical to teach them about God, as presented in the Bible, and the gratitude we should have because of Jesus. If our children accept Jesus, it is much easier to understand us, and to also accept our imperfections ...with God taking care of our failures, and blessing them with the understanding of love being reciprocal.
God created the angels ...and they saw Him for who He is. From God's side ...He is the great I AM, yet from where I sit, the great HE IS.
